Precautions Regarding the Length of Conduit for Busbars
Compared with traditional wire and cable installation methods, compact busbar trunking systems offer numerous distinct advantages. These include a small footprint, a compact structure, and minimal space requirements; they can carry high currents and easily tap off branch circuits via plug‑in power distribution units; they are manufactured from premium materials, feature sophisticated designs, exhibit superior electromechanical performance, and provide excellent enclosure grounding, ensuring safety and stability. Consequently, they are widely used in the main distribution mains of residential and commercial high‑rise buildings around the world. Unlike air‑type busbar trunking systems that are typically used for tapping off branch circuits, compact busbar trunking systems do not permit such casual branching but do offer excellent flame retardancy.
Be sure to precisely measure the installation dimensions of the busbar trunking system on site, and ensure that the length of the trunking is installed with exacting accuracy. The height and width of the plug‑in power switch box for the busbar trunking shall be determined according to the design. When installing fire‑safety distribution trunking in confined spaces, a flame‑retardant construction must be used, with a protective coating thickness of no less than 30 mm. If open‑type coatings are applied, metal conduits or metal cable trays shall be protected with fire‑resistant coatings, as metal conduits and cable trays do not inherently provide fire protection. When using non‑flame‑retardant insulated and sheathed cables, metal flexible conduits and metal troughs must not be employed for protection within shaftways. However, when conduits pass through the elevator shaft floor, they must be routed through floor‑penetrating conduits and recessed protective channels, and the gaps between the upper and lower portions of the conduit recesses must also be sealed and protected.
