Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is a cross-sea channel in Guangdong Province that connects Shenzhen and Zhongshan as well as Nansha District of Guangzhou. It is the eastern part of the Shenzhen-Cenxi Expressway (National Highway G2518) of the national expressway network [30]. It integrates “bridge-island-tunnel-underwater interchange” in one, with a total length of about 24 kilometers. The length of the submarine tunnel is 6,845 meters, of which the immersed tube section is 5,035 meters long and consists of 32 tube sections and 1 final joint. It is the world’s first two-way eight-lane steel shell concrete immersed tube tunnel.
